Fabric, Snowboarding, Tower of Power

Another long weekend!

Stuck around late at work on Friday to get a course from the Ian and Lou, the wiring guys, on how to do things properly. Then headed home to finish the music for The Director's Half Cut and meet Tom to give it to him.

Finally got out at about 10:30 to meet up with Alice, Catherine, Amil (spelling?) and Ruth to head to Fabric for one their birthday nights. Had a bit of a giggle to myself watching the hot dog dude outside the tube having his cart confiscated by the council. Gotta try to never eat one of those things again after seeing what they keep in the little cupboard under the hot plate!

Amil and Ruth were lucky to get into the club as they didn't have tickets and the queue was roadblock but thanks to a bit of last minute blagging and a fluke with a lax doorman it was all cool.

Top night. In particular, Babyhead, Filthy Dukes, Breakfastaz, DJ Noize and the Scratch Perverts rocked it. Bumped into the man like Shaft and the 'avin it massive. Got out at around 5:30 to see the same hot dog dude outside the club with a new cart!

Saturday, hungover rehearsal for TDHalfCut then jumped on a train to Milton Keynes to see Karma Down play at Xscape, the indoor ski slope. Landed my first rail grind! Admittedly very gingerly and without much panache but still, it's progress. Buckled myself on my third go at it but not half as badly as the guy who knocked himself out!

Sunday, another TDHalfCut rehearsal then headed into town to meet Will and Jen to go see Tower of Power at the Astoria. They're an awesome American funk/soul band who've been playing for 38 years and still got a severe amount of funk! Extremely randomly bumped into Olly Cotton but lost him again straight away.

First Post!

Finally got round to starting this blog. It's been a while in coming. Here's hoping I can keep it going.

Found out that Tim, who I went to uni with and does a very similar job to mine in a facility just round the corner, earns twice as much as me today. Damn I need a better paid job!

Went to the theatre this evening with the man like Shaft. Saw a play called Habeus Corpus by Alan Bennett (who's apparently immensely famous but I'm too much of a pleb to have heard of him before). Pretty good show. Acting was a bit hammed up but it was a comedy so it was allowed. Tickets would've been £45 but in my usual style I won them from Time Out. We had a couple of glasses of free champers and some awesome canapés and mingled with a load of posh people including Sienna Miller (Jude Law's bird? Wouldn't know her if I tripped over her) and some girl who used to be in the TV show Cracker.

Really gutted actually because not only did Brutus Addison also offer me a free ticket to go and see The Coral at Brixton Academy, but a couple outside South Ken. tube offered us free tickets to go and see whatever was on at The Royal Albert Hall. Would've loved to have done them all but can't be in three places at once!
